Renowned for their breathtaking landscapes, pristine beaches, rich bioersity, and vibrant historical heritage, these islands are a premier destination for travellers seeking adventure and natural beauty. In honour of this day, the Tourism Department has organized a series of exciting events from September 23rd to 27 th , aimed at welcoming tourists, engaging local communities by involving Tourism Stakeholders and other line Departments of the Administration. This year’s theme, “Tourism and Peace,” emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices to preserve our Islands for future generations.

Activities
September 23rd - an Elocution Competition among School Students will be organized by the Education Dept. September 25th - an Elocution competition among Colleges in the Conference Hall of ANCOL.September 26th- a drawing and painting competition hosted by the Art & Culture Department. Department followed by a seminar at JNRM focused on the theme.September 27th -Tourists will receive a warm welcome at key locations such as the Airport, Haddo Jetty, Cellular Jail, and Swaraj & Shaheed Dweep Jetty, greeted by representatives from tourism stakeholders, India Tourism, GoI and the Department of Tourism. Additionally, a Reel Making Competition in collaboration with Aqua Cars of India will encourage creativity, with the best reels showcased on the Tourism Department’s social media and winners receiving certificates and Beach cleaning drive and Workshop by ANTOA. The festivities will culminate in a Cultural Programme on September 27 th at the Dr. B R Ambedkar Auditorium from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, promising an evening of entertainment and celebration.
