Tusu Parab festival is mostly seen in the tribal populated area of Jharkhand and mainly held in the area between Bundu, Tamar and Raidih. It is a harvest festival celebrated in winter on the last day of the month of Poush. It is a festival for unmarried girls to decorate a wooden/bamboo frame with coloured paper and then offer it to the nearby hilly river. Although there is no documented history about the festival, it is celebrated by melodious songs sung on the occasion. These songs reflect the simplicity and innocence of the tribals. Sweets are prepared with sesame seeds and offered to all. On the second day of the festival, ‘’khichri’’ (mixture of rice and lentils) is prepared with vegetables like cauliflower, potatoes, peas, etc.
