This festival is celebrated by fasting and as Lord Krishna is believed to have been born at midnight, devotees stay up till then to sing devotional songs, dance to them and exchange sweets to celebrate his birth. The idols are arranged in cradles and swings while Lord Krishna is offered curd, butter, sweets, milk and a variety of fruits. Janmashtami is a very fun festival in nature as it focuses on enacting the childhood occurrences with Lord Krishna.Janmashtami is celebrated in a myriad of different ways throughout the country.
