Dadi Padumjee, Begum Parween Sultana, Rajit Kapur along with Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar and many other artists from various field of Classical music, dance, folk art form and crafts.The convention brings delegates from urban to rural areas to a host capital city both enriched with own as well as erse state of traditional and modern values. The inaugural program starting on 29 May and carried on 3rd June till overnight concert ended on 4th June 2023 witness the beautiful and learning practice of various art forms. More than 1200 students and volunteers shall be participating in the convention, representing erse regions of India. The convention will be providing a platform for participants to closely interact with legendary artists, craftspeople, theatre persons, puppeteers, classical and folk singers, and dancers. Participants would be able to experience and appreciate various art forms, traditions, and cultural practices, thereby promoting cultural exchange and understanding.SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) is a 46-year old nationwide non-political people's movement and a registered society that has been organizing programmes of classical music & dance, folk music & dance, meditation, yoga, cinema classic screenings, talks by eminent persons, heritage walks, craft workshops inside school and college campuses to inspire students to take an active interest in Indian heritage. Activities
There will be 30 workshops in Hindustani Vocal, Carnatic Vocal, the 8 classical dances, Folk music & Dance, Traditional Painting styles, crafts conducted in person by renowned artists of the country. The Overall convention program will have the presence of over 40 Indian artists in performance. Folk performances from all different states in the country. Participants pay zero fee. Programs are open to all, streamed live on the SPIC MACAY Youtube channel. The last day of convention will be having a visit to heritage sites, giving an opportunity for the students and delegates to feel the mystic history of the city as well. The visit to these tourist places leaves a never fading memory of the convention. Participants shall be visiting historic and tourist sites of Nagpur on the final day of the convention like Deeksha Bhumi of BR Ambedkar, Ramtek Temple, Sewagram, Dragon Palace, Raman Science Centre etc. The convention will served as a catalyst for tourism in Nagpur and its surrounding areas. Participants had the opportunity to explore the city and its attractions, contributing to the local economy. The exposure to Indian culture and heritage generated a keen interest among participants to explore more of India's erse tourism offerings and tangible heritage.
