Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord

Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord
Krishna, is celebrated with great pomp in Mathura. Along with Mathura, Gokul,
Nandgaon, Vrindavan, Mahavan, Govardhan etc. are celebrated in the places of
God. On the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishnaotsav, three days (Bhadrapada,
Saptami, Ashtami and Navami, cultural programs are organized in Mathura with
the cooperation of District Administration, U.P. Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad and
temple administration) at Ramlila Ground near Shri Krishna's birth place. The
programs are presented by international artists, artists of Braj. This year, it
is proposed to organize from 18 August 2022 to 20 August 2022. Colorful
lighting arrangements / decorations are done in a grand way on the major
historical temples, houses, major squares, roads of Mathura Braj Mandal. The
procession/tableaux in the city are taken out through major routes.
Even on Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, the birth anniversary of
Lord Krishna, new clothes are worn after taking Panchamrit bath at 12:00 pm at
Krishna's birth place. Puja Aarti is performed. The make-up of diamond jewels
is visible. Prasad of Charanamrit and Panjiri is distributed to the devotees.
On this occasion lakhs of indigenous/foreign devotees come to visit.
On the next day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Nandotsav is
celebrated in Gokul and Nandgaon on Bhadrapada Navami. On this occasion
congratulations, singing program takes place. On this occasion, devotees chant
"Nand ke Anand Bhayo Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki, Haathi Dine Ghoda Dine and
Dine Palki". In this way, the festival of Krishnotsav is celebrated with
great pomp.
