Patiala Heritage & Craft Festival
The objective of
organizing this festival is to promote, project and preserve the culture of
Punjab and also the Heritage of Sikhism. To revive the same and to spread its
Culture & Philosophy among the youngster of Punjab, the State Government is
organizing these festivals that will be well received by the people and will be
of immense help to the Punjab Tourism Indus....

Culture & Philosophy among the youngster of Punjab, the State Government is
organizing these festivals that will be well received by the people and will be
of immense help to the Punjab Tourism Industry to attract people from all over
India and abroad to attend these festivals.
One
of the festival is Craft Mela on the lines of the Suraj Kund Craft Mela. The Mela is proposed to be held in the ground
of Sheesh Mahal, which is a part of old Moti Bagh palace complex of the
erstwhile rules of the Patiala State. The site measures about 6-8 acres and is
marked by the dry bed of a lake with a suspension bridge called Luxman Jhula.
There is also dry bed of lake measuring 3-4 acres would form stage for Craft
Mela.

Activities
The land of the garden around the
lake would be used for performing artists and also for erecting food stalls and
stage for folk dancers and other form of rural entertainments. The total number
of craft persons would be around 175-200.
