Every year, Odisha Tourism celebrates World Tourism Day with cultural events and sustainable tourism initiatives, highlighting the state's unique attractions. This year, aligning with the theme of "Tourism & Peace," Odisha has planned a series of events that encourage community participation and drive the message of sustainable tourism. Some of the events are listed below: 1. Cleanliness Drive – The World Tourism Day will be kicked off with a cleanliness drive in heritage sites and beaches. Apart from the cleanliness activations in ASI monuments of Khandagiri-Udayagiri caves and the Sun Temple of Konark, the Swargadwar beach at Puri, which is most frequented by tourists visiting the State, will have volunteers – citizen and travellers, participating in beach cleaning activity. Time: 6 am onwards 2. Superbike rally – Odisha Tourism every year hosts a Superbike Rally, where more than 150 super bikers participate which helps in elevating awareness on tourism and its impact on our economy. This year too, Odisha Tourism is hosting a superbike rally from Dhauli Shanti Stupa in Bhubaneswar to the iconic Konark Sun Temple on 27th September 2024. This rally is aimed towards highlighting Odisha's excellent road connectivity, scenic routes, and peaceful heritage sites. Riders will journey through stunning landscapes and cultural landmarks, promoting adventure and heritage tourism. Odisha Tourism aggressively promotes this activity in its social media and other marketing channels, helping the state in catching attention of tourists to the monuments being undertaken as part of the rally.
