Navratri, meaning “nine nights”, is one of the most revered and widely celebrated Hindu festivals, observed every autumn across India. While many regions honor the festival with devotion and rituals, Gujarat stands apart—it transforms into a living, breathing celebration of dance, music, and spiritual energy. The state erupts into a nine-night cultural spectacle, and at the heart of it all lies GMDC Ground in Ahmedabad, the epicenter of the Vibrant Navratri Festival 2025, hosted by Gujarat Tourism. From September 22 to October 1, GMDC Ground becomes a radiant arena where thousands of people gather each evening to celebrate Shakti, the ine feminine force. The festival is dedicated to the nine forms of Goddess Durga, each representing a unique aspect of strength, wisdom, and compassion. Communities come together in open spaces, dressed in dazzling traditional attire, to perform Garba—a circular dance that symbolizes unity and devotion. The synchronized movements, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of dhols and the clatter of dandiya sticks, create an electrifying atmosphere that resonates across the city. For the first time in Gujarat, the Garba performance area will feature a custom-designed amphitheatre-style layout, offering enhanced comfort and an immersive viewing experience for attendees. The opening night will showcase a breathtaking performance by over 1,000 artists from across the state, including renowned exponents of Prachin Garba, Arvachin Garba, and Rash Dandiya.
