SPIC MACAY is a non-profit, nationwide youth driven voluntary movement for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture, which for the last 47 years has been tirelessly trying to create awareness about our rich cultural heritage among thousands of young minds every year and committed to reaching out to every student of this country. In pursuance of our objective, SPIC MACAY organizes International Conventions every year, which is the culmination of SPIC MACAY's year-long programs conducted all over the country and abroad. It is an annual congregation of youth from across India and abroad, who spend one week in a unique ashram-like atmosphere.

Activities
About 1600 participants get an opportunity to connect with some of the greatest Gurus through various activities like classical music and dance concerts, lecture demonstrations, intensives workshops (3 HOUR duration), talks, Naad yoga, Hatha Yoga, theatre, cinema classics, folk arts and crafts, cultural heritage and environmental interactions, ultimately establishing a deep chord with Indian and world heritage. The concluding day will have a ‘Classical Overnight’ concert beginning at 8 pm and ending at 6 am the following morning. Youth delegates witness UNESCO listed Intangible art form such as Kutiyattam, Buddhist Chanting along with an opportunity to listen to rare instruments like Rudra Veena and Surbahar. We have conducted eight International Conventions in the last decade and over 12 National Conventions, with the 8th International Convention held recently at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Engineering College, Nagpur. at IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati and at the IIM Calcutta and VNIT Nagpur.
