The Mostamanu Fair is held annually at the Mostamanu Temple, located about 7 km from the Pithoragarh district headquarters. The fair takes place annually during August or September, spanning three to seven days. During this time, local villagers carry a palanquin of Lord Mosta, the God of Rain, seeking His blessings for a prosperous season. Traditional craftsmen, particularly those selling agricultural tools, also attend the fair from distant places.
According to local folklore, the temple was built by a saint named Mostamanav, who traveled from Nepal and settled in this region. The temple is believed to be a replica of the famous Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal.
