Leitlangpui Music Festival

Leitlangpui Music Festival is a dynamic cultural event held annually in Lunglei, the seocnd capital of Mizoram (just 4 hours drive from Aizawl), celebrating the region’s musical and artistic spirit. Hosted at Pukpui Kawmzawl, Lunglei in mid-November, the three-day festival features original music performances, traditional dances, local cuisine, and creative showcases.What makes Leitlangpui truly special is its historical lineage, drawing inspiration from the legendary Serkawn Concert—a pioneering cultural movement organized between 1932 and 1946 by the Serkawn Middle English School. Back then, students performed secular songs, dramas, and musical exhibitions composed by their teachers, making it the first entertainment festival of its kind in Mizoram. The Serkawn Concert laid the foundation for community-based artistic expression and became a cherished annual tradition in Lunglei. Today, the Leitlangpui Music Festival carries forward that legacy—reviving the spirit of creativity, unity, and cultural pride that Serkawn once ignited. It’s not just a festival; it’s a living tribute to Mizoram’s artistic roots. The second Edition of Leitlangpui Music Festival is set to be held on 13th to 15th November 2025 at Kawmzawl, Pukpui, Lunglei in Mizoram.  This event is organised by Mizoram Tourism and funded by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
