Unakoti is ornamented with huge rock-cut images of Gods and Goddesses in the midst of liberal gifts of the nature. All it is holy place, a historical remains or a hill station, every denomination seems befitting. However, Sitakunda or Ashtamikunda a natural reservoir emanating from a romping spring of crystal water becomes the most tantalizing attraction to the people during Maghi Sankranti (in December) Falguni Purnima (in March). The Unakoti means one less than a core. The rocky walls, the Central Siva Head and gigantic Ganesh figures deserve special mention which is about 30 fit high. It is the largest bas-relief sculpture in India. The stone and rock cut images on the hill solve belongs to 7th to 9th centuries and is situated at a distance of 186 km from Agartala, 10 km from Kailashahar.

Activities
The entire area will be decorated during the festival by setting up of arches, gates, columns etc. good number of banners, flex and scroll will also be displayed in and around Unakoti area as well as in Kailashahar and Agartala. It will also be decorated with flag, festoons, flex night illumination etc. A cultural stage will be setup at Unakoti for organizing Cultural programmes where cultural troupes from different parts of the state specially from 22 ethnic the groups of Tripura will participate. Apart from this cultural troupes will also be invited from the neighboring states of Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur and also West Bengal and Orissa. And exhibition will be organized by setting up of a good number of stalls. Many Government Departments, NGO’s will participate in the exhibition. The traditional cultures of the state will be shown in the exhibition in a befitting manner. From Tourism also numbers of stalls will be setup for show-casing different Tourist Spots of the state with adequate, information as regards Tripura Tourism.
